Credits and tests

Credits are what you spend to run tests in Squoosh. A test is one experiment run — an A/B test or a Conversion Report. Every workspace has one shared credit balance, and each test draws from it.

How credits map to tests

A credit is the unit you spend to run a test. Your workspace holds a single shared balance; everyone in the workspace draws from the same pool.

A test is one experiment run. An A/B test costs 30 credits; a Conversion Report costs 10 credits for its Standard 10-shopper panel, or 30 credits for a Deep 30-shopper panel. All of them draw from that shared balance and count toward your monthly limit.

"N tests left" in the sidebar

The account row at the bottom of the sidebar shows N tests left — how many more A/B tests you can actually start. It reads 5 tests left, or 1 test left at one.

Two limits feed that number, and it shows whichever is lower: how many A/B tests your credit balance covers (your balance ÷ 30), and how much of your monthly test limit is still unused. So it rises when you add credits and falls as you run tests, but on a plan with a monthly test limit, a workspace that has used it up still shows 0 tests left however many credits you top up — see Monthly and property limits. Plans without a monthly limit (Enterprise) follow the credit balance alone. If no number shows, the balance hasn't loaded yet.

What a test costs

The run wizard shows each test's exact cost before you launch, so you see the price and your remaining balance first.

An A/B test runs with a fixed audience, so its cost is fixed — there's no size to choose. A Conversion Report has two panel sizes, and you pay one credit per shopper in the panel you pick:

Test Cost Est. time
A/B test 30 credits ~10 min
Conversion Report — Standard (10 shoppers) 10 credits ~12 min
Conversion Report — Deep (30 shoppers) 30 credits about twice Standard

Under the cost, the wizard shows how many credits you'll have left after the run. The estimated time is rough, not a guarantee.

If a test costs more than your balance, the wizard blocks the launch and names the shortfall:

Insufficient credits — this experiment costs 30 credits, but your balance is lower. Top up your account to launch.

To clear the block, top up your account (see below).

Monthly and property limits

Credits aren't the only limit. Your plan also caps how many tests you can run per month and how many properties you can have. Both apply even when you have enough credits.

Limit Default What happens when you hit it
Tests per month 5 Launch is blocked: "Monthly test limit reached. Upgrade your plan for more tests."
Properties 1 Adding a property is blocked: "Property limit reached. Upgrade your plan for more properties."

The monthly count covers the tests you start in the current calendar month — A/B tests and Conversion Reports alike — and resets on the first of each month. One exception: a run that fails without ever putting shoppers on your page gives its slot back and doesn't count against the limit. A run that fails after its shoppers have run still counts, and so does a run you stop yourself — in both cases the shopper sessions you paid for already happened. To raise either cap, change your plan (see below).

Note

If your account is suspended, Squoosh blocks running tests and adding properties with "Your account is suspended. Contact support." Email support@squoosh.ai to resolve it.

Adding credits or changing your plan

Self-serve billing isn't available yet, so credit top-ups and plan changes go through the Squoosh team.

  1. In the sidebar, click Settings.
  2. Under Workspace, open Billing & usage. This shows your current plan, Tests left this month, and Credits remaining.
  3. Click Contact sales to email support@squoosh.ai.

Tell the team whether you want more credits, a higher monthly test limit, or more properties, and they'll set it up.
